That, my friend, is the Red Hot and Blue Rockabilly Weekend for you.
Thursday September 3rd at Lion d’Or: The first night of the Festival will be in the expert hands of Matchless, Rumble Club and Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats, along with DJ Charly Go Psycho, plus a lively Jive lesson, several vendors’ stands and a classy fashion show.
Friday September 4th at Lion d’Or: Iz & the Two Tones Rockers will be kicking off the weekend, accompanied by the Lustre Kings, Wanda Jackson the queen of rockabilly, Portland’s own DJ Pete and Christian D & the Hangovers, as well as a wide array of vendors selling their goodies to you and your friends all night long.
Saturday September 5th at Lion d’Or: On the third day of the party, it will be Lyse & the Hot Kitchen’s turn to show us what they’re made of, followed by sets by the Stumbleweeds, rockabilly legend Johnny Powers, Rocky Velvet and DJ Turky, straight from Paris. Don’t miss the heated jive competition, dinner with the Red Hot and Blue Team at Lion d’Or for 35$ only, and yet another night of shopping delight.
Sunday September 6th at Jardin Tiki: A luscious antiques and customs car show starting at 2pm, filled to the brim with a large variety of pre-’66 models and an open jam session, for which you are encouraged to bring along an instrument of your own! And just to finish this ultimate four day party on a tropical note, the Greasemarks, Joel Kaiser & the Devils Own and Toronto’s DJ John & Jenny will be keeping us company at the Hawaiian Happy Hour and mouth watering Tiki buffet.
So put on your party pants and Buddy Holly glasses and come do the boogie with us from September 3rd to 6th. You’ve got Monday off because of Labour Day anyway, so you’ve got no excuse.
