Electric Zoo in New York City, Sept. 5 & 625 août | Par Pierre-Alexandre BuissonTags : Festivals, Musique, Soirées, DJs Ever wondered why big electronic music festivals never happened in North America? No need to further question this saddening fact - Electric Zoo, a european-style festival, is currently taking shape in New York City and its first edition will take place on September 5 & 6. With its two days and four stages, it offers a little something for everyone, their pets, and their whole families. The main stage offers the usual big commercial favorites (Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Steve Angello) and some surprising names such as Seth Troxler, Ben Watt and Chateau Flight. The Riverside Arena will be packed with popular artists such as Roger Sanchez, Benny Benassi, Chris Lake, Chus & Ceballos, James Holden, Desyn Masiello and Nathan Fake, while the popular Sunday School franchise (infamous for their marathon closing party every year at WMC) will take care of the Sunday School Hilltop with pals such as Luciano, Marco Carola, Martin Buttrich, Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug and Guy Gerber. The fourth scene, "Grove", will host electro and disco with Tiga, Busy P, Yuksek, the Junior Boys, and a tag team between legendary house godfather Frankie Knuckles and Andy Butler from Hercules & Love Affair. Sounds like a dream line-up? That's because it is. And when you know it's all taking place on 24 acres of green grass with a super sweet sound system, that you can get in both days for a ridiculous 120$, and that there are afterparties on top of that, you can't help but feel the need to hit the road.
